The Neo80 Cu is built in the 80% layout, which is the most popular layout after 108%.
With a compact design and practical functionality, it is a perfect choice for users looking to upgrade their workspace or for those seeking a main keyboard suitable for everyday use.

The highlight of the Neo80 Cu is its copper bottom.
It offers a luxurious appearance, impressive weight, and a crisp, clear typing sound—making it the defining feature of this keyboard.

 

Design

“Star Ring”

The top plate features the ‘Star Ring’ detail, inspired by the distortion of space-time caused by gravity.
This represents a planet shining in the dark night sky.

The central “planet” is made of aluminum, etched three times to create a textured planetary surface.
Small stainless steel parts with a mirror finish surround it to depict the dark background of space.
The planet is slightly elevated to create a “floating planet” effect, enhancing the sense of depth.

 

Weight Design

The Neo80 Cu evolves the stainless steel weight design from its predecessor, extending the weight all the way to the USB port.
This harmoniously showcases the combination of aluminum, copper, and stainless steel materials.

 

The bottom plate features smooth curves where it meets the weight, creating seamless joints.
At the center sits the Cu series logo shaped like a compass, representing the Neo brand identity.

 

With the copper bottom plate and stainless steel weight, the Neo80 Cu weighs an impressive ~4.5 kg.
This substantial weight minimizes vibrations and delivers a deep, clean typing sound.

 

Side Profile Design

Viewed from the side, the top and bottom plates flow together with smooth curves, forming an elegant, “floating” silhouette.
It combines a solid feel with a soft, refined beauty.

 

Structural Design

“Poron Gasket Mount + Silicone Gasket Mount + Top Mount”

Through numerous prototypes, the NEO80 Cu adopts a Poron gasket mount.
Unlike typical Poron gaskets, special grooves were designed in the bottom plate to secure the gaskets, making replacement easy and durable.

The traditional silicone gasket mount is also available, and for users who prefer a firmer typing experience, a top mount is supported.

Note: The top mount cannot be used with a solder PCB if building without a plate, as the screw holes for the top mount are on the plate.

 

Resonance-Minimizing Structure + Integrated Forcebreak

The Neo80 Cu bottom plate features a resonance-minimizing structure with multiple internal sections, reducing echo and noise.
Forcebreak pads are applied at all contact points between the top and bottom plates to eliminate ping noise and significantly reduce vibrations.
Combined with the copper bottom plate, the Cu series produces a deep, clear typing sound without additional dampening materials.

 

Plate

“PEI”

The recently popular PEI plate material offers superior rigidity and durability compared to PC.
It provides a firm yet crisp typing feel, and its translucent amber color adds a luxurious touch.
A clear coating finish replaces sandblasting, giving it a smooth and glossy surface.

Due to the nature of the material, the PEI plate may not be perfectly flat after processing; slight unevenness is normal.

 

“ALU Plate with Glossy Chamfer”

Based on feedback, the plate was redesigned with a Flex Cut.
Through numerous prototypes, the design balances a consistent typing feel across areas while retaining the material’s unique tactile properties.

The spacebar section is boldly cut while maintaining internal spring support to achieve both rigidity and flexibility.
Edges are chamfered for better switch fit, and the entire plate features a Glossy Chamfer.
A planetary decoration above the arrow keys expresses the cosmic theme throughout both the exterior and interior.

 

“Foam Kit”

While the Neo80 Cu produces excellent sound even without additional dampening, all foam materials are included.
Users can enjoy a “no-foam” typing sound or customize the sound using the included dampening materials.
