Ticktype DP104

Ticktype is a new company made by the creators of Evoworks. The DP 104 is a pre-built full size keyboard to introduce their first design.

The DP series name comes from the D-Pad. The D-Pad, which is in many of our childhood memories, act as the arrow keys of a controller. The DP series' goal is to bring more joy and functions within simplicity. Instead of intential decorations, it added the many features in the most simple and straightforward shape. Within this concept, The DP series focused on minimal and tech aesthetics for the design.

Visual Appearance:

The DP 104 uses a structure where the top case does not cover the bottom case to emphasize the different colors and visual experience.

Weight:

The weight at the back is manufactured with mirror polished stainless steel and the surface logo and text is made with CNC for accuracy and luxurious shine.

RGB:

The DP104 does not only have a sharp look, but also has impeccable RGB lighting.

Convenient Mode Switch:

There is a three point switch which allows to switch between wired, bluetooth, and 2.4G wireless.
There is also a 2-point switch which allows to switch between Windows and Mac

Ambient Light:

There are two ambient lights on top of the arrow cluster.

The right serves as general ambient lighting, while the bottom creates a diffused light effect as the light softly reflects off the aluminum surface.
The left side has two buttons for audio control which is convenient for music and video.

Display:

The top right has a dot matrix display. There are two buttons on the right of the display. The triangle button is toggle display mode and the circle button is toggle lighting effect.

Dot Matrix Display Lighting Themes:

The dedicated driver supports a custom theme feature.
Each LED color can be individually configured, and the sequence and speed of frame animations can be freely edited.
This allows users to fully customize the lighting patterns to match their keycap color combinations or personal preferences, creating a truly unique DP104 that reflects their own style.

Fireworks:

We designed the fireworks theme to create a special atmosphere even in the moment of typing.
In the idle state, fireworks randomly burst on the screen, but once you start typing, each keystroke sets off a new spark.
As your typing speed increases, the fireworks burst continuously across the screen, coming together to form a dazzling digital fireworks show.

Typing Mode:

The text that is typed shows up on the dot matrix real time and shows what you are typing at the moment.

Music Rhythm Mode:

There is a built in internal mic in the PCB (sound pickup sensor) which senses the nearby sound to display an animation that matches the typing sound or the music that is in the background.

Subtitles Mode:

To add a bit of extra fun while typing, we introduced the subtitle theme.
You can set up to five custom phrases, which scroll across the dot-matrix display in rotation, showing your messages as you type.

Structure:

Leaf-spring Structure:

The DP104 uses a double-bridge berylium copper and triple-dampening structure which creates a clean and uniform typing sound.

Quick Release system & magnetic connector.

It utilizes the ball-catch structure and magnetic connector. With a simple one-handed lift, the top case can be easily detached. This makes switch and keycap replacement, as well as DIY customization, much faster and cleaner.

Internal Structure:

The internals use 5 different types of foams and the 1.2mm PCB makes the typing feel soft and bouncy.

Keycaps:

It uses 5-sided dye-sub PBT Keycaps which are smooth and have an even surface which is also color accurate while staying durable. (Please note that the Swagkeys version has Korean sublegends.)

The 5 colors of DP104 have different switches assigned to them.

Gray/White: Can Choose between Rye and Whisper Switches.

Warm Silver/Light Blue, Pink: Rye Switches only.
